Isn't This Groovy?
Courtesy of Google's Ngram Viewer here is a comparison of the usage of the words Snafu, Groovy and Google in books from 1935 to 2008 (when Google's index ends).
Snafu is a WWII acronym coined by GI's about Army life. It stands for Situation Normal All F**k*d Up. Groovy exploded on the scene in the mid 1960s, while you all know about Google.
I was surprised by the relative stability of the usage of Snafu over the years and the apparent resurgence of Groovy since the mid-90s but I bet that if you extended this Ngram to 2012, Google would overwhelm both.
And speaking of Groovy, The Rascals (originally The Young Rascals) just finished a successful Broadway engagement with their show The Rascals: Once Upon A Dream featuring their 1967 smash hit Groovin'.
