New Music For Old People

Al Kooper '69

This morning's Wall St Journal carried an interview with Al Kooper, founder of one of THC's favorite bands of the 1960s, Blood Sweat & Tears.  Prior to BS&T, Al led The Blues Project, wrote This Diamond Ring, which became a #1 single by Gary Lewis & The Playboys, and played the swirling Hammond Organ on Bob Dylan's Like A Rolling Stone (he'd never played organ before, it all happened spontaneously as you can read about in the interview).

(With Dylan, 1965)
One of his current ventures is writing an online weekly report: New Music For Old People.  Al spends time listening to new music every week and puts together a jukebox with his recommendations.  He's finding some good stuff.  Take a listen.(2003)
