Gravity

The new film Gravity is spectacular (at least in IMAX 3-D).  Go see it.  THC has been leery of 3-D having experienced some poor applications (for instance, one of the previews was of the new episode of The Hobbit and the 3-D looked pretty cheesy) but Gravity is visually perfect and fascinating to watch.  The care the director lavished on it shows in every second of screen time.  The only two actors appearing on screen are Sandra Bullock and George Clooney.  They play astronauts on the space shuttle sent on a mission to the Hubble Telescope when a Russian missile test to destroy one of its own satellites goes awry and sets off an orbital pinball chaos.  The story feels a bit like "The Perils of Pauline" but Bullock and Clooney carry it off.  Here's the trailer which fails to convey the magnificence of seeing the movie in 3-D.
