A couple of things I noticed in the past few days, which seem related.
Minnesota attempted to avoid the deportation of a immigrant from Laos who had been convicted of raping, on multiple occasions, a 10-year old girl, and had lost his legal status as a result of the conviction. In a final desperate attempt to thwart deportation, the state's Board of Pardons, consisting of Governor Tim Walz, AG Keith Ellison, and Chief Justice Hudson voted to pardon the rapist. Despite this, Secretary of State Rubio properly ordered his deportation.
Commenting on Rubio's decision, Governor Walz protested that "we can't all be judged on our worst day". Since there were multiple rapes it's too bad no one asked Walz which was the rapist's "worst day". Probably were some pretty bad days for the victim also.
Just another example of the privileged status of those here illegally and of the moral obtuseness of their defenders. For more, see Footnote 1 in The Death of Compromise.

In preparation for this future, SS (Smarmy Smile) Zohran Mamdani went to Rikers Prison to build some loyalty to him by watching the World Cup semifinals with inmates While enjoying the match Mamdani sat next to an inmate who had strangled his wife to death. I'm pretty confident the mayor didn't waste any time thinking about the woman.
