The Boys Of Pointe Du Hoc
President Reagan's address given on the cliffs at Pointe Du Hoc, Normandy on the 40th anniversary of the D-Day landings. A speech recognizing the contribution of those from every nation that landed on the beaches that day and the challenges facing a still divided Europe forty years later.
Today on the 70th anniversary of D-Day we are almost as distant from Reagan's speech as he was from the actual landings. The youngest surviving Americans who landed that day are now in their late 80s.
